The Animals

I constantly refer to my animals in my posts and while you can see their pictures on the side of my blog, you don’t know anything about them. Here’s a very brief run-down of who’s who and what they do.

Bradley was my 14 year old German Shepherd/Lab mix. I got him for my ninth birthday and he meant the world to me.

Benvolio is my 5 year old Rat Terrier/Beagle mix. I adopted him from a shelter. He’s overly emotive and constantly thinks that people are about to kill him.

Santana is my 4 year old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. He’s a sweetie and a goofball and a horse who’s a lot of fun with whom to work — something I really needed!

Masterpiece is my mom’s 15 year old Arabian gelding. He was mine for around ten years, but we had an interesting relationship. He’s a pasture ornament due to health issues and attitude problems that are expounded by his health issues. He and my mom get along better than he and I ever did, so she offered to buy him from me. I gladly took her up on the offer.

Beam was my 32 year old Tennessee Walker gelding who had to be put down in February of 2007. He was my first horse, who I’d gotten when I was 11 from family friends for $1.00. He taught me an incredible amount and I still miss the cantankerous old fart.

Maizy and Huckleberry Finn are my ferrets, each about 4 years old. They live at my apartment with Bradley and I and provide us with constant entertainment. Ok, they provide me with constant entertainment and provide Bradley with constant temptation. Like little pieces of candy on legs.
